Tread Lightly, Retire Early
I remember the day Angela at Tread Lightly, Retire Early first published her post titled Meet the Women of the Financial Independence Movement. She asked for women to message her to be added to the list (which I did). The post was, and still is, very popular as it lists dozens of women bloggers, podcasters, authors, and money coaches. She later started her series titled Women’s Personal Finance Wednesdays in which she featured three posts by women bloggers each Wednesday. I’m delighted to have been included twice (so far). Angela always briefly describes why she selects each post.
- Week 35 Roundup: My post titled I Quit. Three Reasons I’m Walking Away from a Part-time Job with Great Benefits
- Week 65 Roundup: My interview with The Fioneers on their site (see link below)
Rockstar Finance
Rockstar Finance WAS a fun and awesome website in the personal finance community for both bloggers and readers. The site featured a daily curated selection of three featured posts from more than 2,000 personal finance bloggers (Rockstar Features), a searchable and filterable directory of personal finance bloggers, and a livestream of blog posts from all those bloggers that was updated hourly. With several thousand subscribers to the Rockstar Finance website and Twitter feed, selection for a Rockstar Feature was exciting and brought exposure and traffic to a blogger’s site.
Rockstar Feature
- My post titled Dear Kids, Check Out These Millennial Bloggers. Love, Mom. P.S. No Book Report Required was my first Rockstar Feature. I’m thankful for the feature and the thrill of having my post selected.
- My second Rockstar Feature was Could You Welcome an Income Decrease? 10 Takeaways from the Pay Cuts in My Life.
Rockstar Finance Daily Digest – Noteworthy
Previously, subscribers to daily e-mail digest from Rockstar Finance would also see links to a few additional curated posts in a section titled “Noteworthy.”
I am excited to be able to say that these posts were included in the Noteworthy section of Rockstar Finance daily digests:
- When the Dream is Entrepreneurship, Not Early Retirement. Five Things That Helped My Husband Achieve His Goal
- Important Personal Finance Tasks for the Best Man and Maid of Honor
Thrifty Enough
Over at the former Thrifty Enough blog, Mr. Thrifty was passionate about personal finance. Once a week, he posted a curated selection of ‘this week’s thriftiest content’ from other bloggers with articles that caught his attention and highlight different perspectives about personal finance. I’m sorry you can no longer link to his complimentary remarks, but I am thankful he found my post on welcoming an income decrease worthy of some attention. Thanks, Mr. Thrifty!
Collaborations
The Fioneers
In December 2019, my interview on #SlowFI with The Fioneers was published and it is one of my favorite pieces since I started blogging. You can read about the slower paced journey to financial independence that my husband and I deliberately chose at this link. I share a bit about our charitable giving, our time as foster parents, my downsized career, and more… check it out!
1500 Days
Carl at 1500 Days hosts a series of 10 Questions interviews and I had a turn in May 2019.

Mama Fish Saves (now Smart Money Mamas)
On International Women’s Day, 2018, I joined more than 40 female personal finance bloggers in a #WomenRockMoney collaboration to encourage women of the world on their personal finance journey. Many thanks to Chelsea, who blogs at Mama Fish Saves (now Smart Money Mamas), for originating and organizing the entire event. Not creatively titled beyond the name of the collaboration, this was my post:
