Washington Park, named a Great Public Space in 2012, is one of my favorite places in Denver. Photo by Carol.
America is a beautiful country, and life is too short to spend all of our days working inside! You know from my first post that I want adults to identify what they value in life so they can live intentionally and true to their values.
My values definitely include family time and the great outdoors, whether natural or man-made. Family time while enjoying an outdoor locale? Icing on the cake.
Since 2007, the American Planning Association (APA) has released an annual list of Great Neighborhoods, Great Public Spaces, and Great Streets in the United States. The 2017 list was announced today, October 4, 2017! Are any near you?

I told you above that Washington Park (aka Wash Park) is one of my favorite places in Denver. It offers flower gardens, open spaces, jogging paths, no-car zones, bicycling (rent [certain times of year] or bring your own), picnic areas, paddle boats, and more. Seriously, a gem in Denver. I hope you can visit it someday.
